EGG-SHAPED SQUASH

January 5, 2015January 5, 2015 JaclynLeave a comment

Together, we forgive the rind

Spreading like an orange
net, loaded with teardrop seeds

The belly of our oven is
amber-glowing, ready

NEAR PERFECTION

May 21, 2013May 19, 2014 JaclynLeave a comment

An accidental poem by Samantha.

i’m pretty confident
i can cook a scallop to

near perfection

from merely watching it
on a cooking show

but i don’t eat scallops
